Anyone dare to say they have a toyota diesel in their stable?

it has been 3/4 of a year since i had to sell my 300sdl.
I know my diesel-less drive way wouldnt stay that way for long.
I just picked up a 1985 toyota 5speed 2-wd from the junkyard with what i think is the 2-L 4 cyl diesel.

Im hoping this toyota is a bit more basic than my MB.

Any similarity besides glow plugs and injectors?

Any other good forums for toyota diesel other than
www.toyotadiesel.com ?

Toyota diesels are awesome! Isuzu diesels are also good.

Toyota trucks are great...a diesel is even better. Please report back with fuel mileage figures.

I loved my 79 toyota pickup I got rid of it about a year ago, after I bought the Mercedes. It had 249k miles on it, and it still ran like a champ. It started right up every morning. I was driving 100 miles a day to work in it just before I sold it. I only sold it becuase I wanted to run biodiesel, and I bought a wagon so I could haul stuff in the back, so I didn't need it anymore.

My 79 was really easy to work on. Much more simple than the MB.

You'll love it.

I will chime in with an 1986 Izuzu Trooper T/D, great vehicle - kind of felt sad for her this weekend, hasn't been driven in Shares a garage with tractors and lawn mowers. I am the original owner, clocking about 190K now - easy to maintain, cut and dry. Maybe should take her to work with me this week.

An Aussie friend once had a diesel Land Cruiser. He claimed that it didn't have enough power to "pull the skin off of a rice custard."

they say 30 plus for the mpg
as for durability you wouldnt beleve this video clip of a 1985 4x4 diesel.
it is a long 20 program where they torture test this truck to kill it.
a testiment to diesels indeed.
Im not sure my SDL could climb stars as well as the truck but im sure it would kicked butt in being smashed through a outbuilding.

if you have the time.
the best part is the ending. it involves 24 story building and TNT
