Compression tester

Harbor Freight item no. 93644, $17.99. Has adaptors that fit every Diesel engine that God ever made and a blow molded case. What more could a Diesel Dude ask for?

I can never understand their pricing. They list several testers in the same catalog that range from $20 to $150 with not all that much difference between each. If you get on the Harbor Freight mailing list, esp. the prefered list, you can save a bundle.

The trouble with ordering from the catalog is that by the time you get through you have 'might as welled' yourself into $250 worth of tools that you may or may not really need.

Just 'cause I have an 8' decorative fountain in my living room, and a bird feeder in the bathroom doesn't mean anything!

Hey Kip, nice heads-up there. Now there is simply no reason for any of us not to have one. I feel a trip to Harbor Freight coming on tomorrow......

I think this is going to be my new tool for the month. I checked out the manual and it said for early Mercedes diesel engines to use an injector adaptor with 24x2.00 threads. Is this the right adapter size for the 617?

Funny, I bought the same one yesterday from Harborfreight! The directions indicate using the injectors, but can it be done with their kit through the glow plugs?

That is a good question, and I hope you get an answer. The pieces for testing through the glow plug openings have a needle in it like a valve stem???
I got mine yesterday. Thanks Kip!
