Driver side headlight burnt out, what should I replace it with. (US Spec 300D)

My lowbeam burnt out, my high-beams still work though, I need to replace it soon, what light that is readily available is recommended? Right now I have 2D1's in there, but they suck pretty bad. Is there a write up on changing the bulbs somewhere? I searched and just found a bunch of euro threads.

Thanks!

I presume you know the lights are fused. You did replace the fuse, correct?

Are the separately fused? No I did not replace the fuse, figuring that the high beams would not work if the fuse was blown.

This is not a Chevy!! Mercedes has a fuse for left low beam, right low beam and hi beams.

What fuse numbers are these? I replaced all of my fuses months ago, so ill see in the morning if that is the problem.

If it is not the fuse, what is a good light that is readily available?

Readily available where?

It's a little tough to predict what might or might not be in stock at your corner auto parts store.

The are likely not readily available, but I recommend Hella H4 lamps. (Euro version if you can live without DOT approval.)

Cheapest: Sylvania Extravision round sealed beam.
Best: Cibie 7" ECE spec round drop in light
Best bang for your buck: Bosch motorcycle 7" ECE spec round drop in light. http://busdepot.com/details.jsp?partnumber=0301600118

Autozone, O'rieleys, wal-mart, pep-boy, any of the national auto parts stores.

Are the Hella H4 lamps drop in? I don't care much about DOT approval, not an issue.

Thanks!
