I was just wondering what other members driving impressions compare of both cars. I looked and drove a relatively low mile 77 280E last night. I was not too impressed by the 280E I drove. It barely seemed more agile than my 85 turbo 300D. I was expecting a rocketship but it seemed to just barely have more power than my 300D. The 280E also felt heavy in the area of steering even more than the turbo diesel does. My 230CE with the four banger seems to be quicker. The car was in great shape and had a good service history.
It was a beautiful car but it just didn't win me over though.
