Help in Phoenix please

Does anybody in the Phoenix AZ area know of a decent junk yard where 123's are to be found? I'm in serious need of a new drivers seat for my 81 240D. I like the idea of rebuilding it using the pool noodle and foam method found online, but I'm afraid I need a whole new set of adjustment levers (backwards forwards and height adjustment) as this seat will slide on it's own if you try to adjust it's position any. Most disconcerting trying to drive like that! I also require a central armrest. I hate not having one and this being a manual it wasnt' standard.

Tri-Star

Every business around and including Tri-Star Pete’s has been leveled for new projects at Tempe Town Lake on the Rio "Salado" Pky.

However they have changed names/hands? and are on broadway with the rest of the wrecking yards. Down the road you’ll find a yard with MB’s parked out front and an old german running the place. Can’t remember the name but he might be able to help.

But for interior parts i would try checking up in the snow belt, or possibly Portland, or Seattle. Wrecking yard seemed to be stocked to the ceiling with older interior parts that had already been removed.

Good Luck.....

Just my humble opinions:

Tri-Star has moved to w. Broadway in Phx. I was there last week... they might well have a 123 seat you could live with. OK prices but Benz is all they do, and they charge more than a pick-your-part accordingly.

Ecology on 27th av n. of Buckeye is really cheap, but they don't often have MBs. They had a bunch of 116s last I was there in February. Might be worth checking out. I believe any car seat goes for $30 at that place.

The "old German" is actually a Hungarian at All Mercedes Yard (or similar name). Blustery guy (again, IMO)... the Hungarian part is not a slur, he actually will hold forth on how much he hates Germans !!?! in between drinks of Heineken and, in the case of my visit, quoting me $1800 for a set of 15 hole 420SEL chromed wheels. I'm not kidding. Maybe he thought I could afford it?!

I just finished taking apart the 420SEL I bought to part out, I don't have any 123 stuff unfortunately. TriStar isn't too bad, and Ecology is a smokin' deal if they have the car you're after...

pj,

If U don't use the passenger seat much, U could swap the two seats. I did thet in my 300SD 15 years ago.

Passenger seat

Thank's for the info guys. I'll check these places out soon as I can. PE. I have thought of swapping the passenger seat across at least temporarily, but I do want a decent drivers seat with a central arm rest so that's my ultimate goal.

Thank's everybody. Struck Paydirt

Thank's to all who responded. Especially RobTheMod. I went down to the Hungarian's place today. Yes I agree. Blustery sort of guy. But I emerged with a perfect 123 series Palomino drivers seat with central armrest for 100 bucks. The passengers seat was there too in as good a condition and if I'd had the money I woujld have payd it right there and taken it too. I've just spend the afternoon cleaning it with Simple Green and a scrubbing brush. It's come out like new! Not a rip or tear anywhere that I can find. Nothing broken. The springs and the rubberized horsehair pad are perfect. Obviously from a much later car than mine and not used very much at all. This will make a huge difference. So once again, thank you all.
