Passenger side footwheel blower panel removal '87 300SDL

I searched the Thread and could not find any information...hence I am posting. Forgive me if I err(ed?)

How do you remove the panel covering blower motor on the passenger side footwheel? I removed the screws securing the panel, yet it wouldn't come off. Help!
