Does this make any sense?
From a local CL posting... referring to an '85 300TD...
"Needs: injector pump for one of the cylinders (runs fine without it, but put it on the list.. approx $150 used)" I'm referring to the symptom, not the cost... I know the injector pump is not an easy thing to replace. I talked with the guy & he told me that his mechanic 'traced the problem back to the injector pump.' He's says it only runs on 4 cylinders and has been this way (unbeknown to him) for the three years he has owned it... seems to run run and gets up to speed. I'm wondering if there is a bad injector rather than injector pump... can a pump cause a single cylinder to misfire?
