Good job on the price too. I think it was a bargain. I thought all the S class had leather. I am surprised to see one with Benz Tex. Buying cheap is the way to go, then you have cash left to put into the car. I hear those ACC servos are expensive.

Thanks guys.

I will probally have to get rid of my 83 300SD. It has served me well but the tranny seems weak. The paint is shot but the car has very little rust. The engine only has about 170K on it. I think ill offer it to the board before ebay since this site has helped me so much. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Great Find!

I really like my w126 '82 model, but that 116 is a totally classy ride. IMHO the 116 has a nicer instrument cluster.

There was one that nice for sale last year in Hollister, ca that I should have snapped up .

Congrats on a great find!

The seats had horsehair pads in the 116. These biodegraded leaving the deflated look. I got lucky, the guy I got mine from paid 1,600 to redo all the seats in mine.
You will love the 116!

Or DOGS

My PPo (previous, previous owner) had some big dogs he hauled around everywhere so ALL the seating was beat to crap....

I have some Audi power seats in the front now but still have the old sacked out rear seat.

but yeah, that's a damn fine SD..

Ohh yeah- love that Maple Yellow (?) . I would be concerned about those chrome aftermarket wheelarch trims. Rust is your enemy on the W116. Welcome to the clan. What are you going to do about your treasonous user ID now?

nice color combo.
The tobacco interior is pretty common, not too hot, and easy to clean. Nice find. My 116d is also from Tennessee. They rock.
