I attempted a diesel purge on my 74 240D, but did something wrong.
Could some one tell me which lines are which? (pic included) Thanks |

what exactly did you do? please tell us what went wrong in your opinion. did you follow the pictorial tutorial at www.dieselgiant.com?
the large hose is the cigar hose return line from the main filter. at the bottom of the pic is the feed line from the tank to the primary filter. the braided line is the no. 1 injector return line, the s curved llines are the injector feed lines. the clear line is the fuel feed from the main filter to the injection. i may be wrong on that one.

And the fitting fasteners are hollow banjo bolts - should be paint marked to allign the holes. Typically you hook up DP in a clear cut up juice jar on the clear small primary filter line and run it full strength. Whats the deal, now the car wont start?

I thought I followed dieselgiant's pics but must have got it wrong. It didn't seem to draw the DP out of the bottle. It ran for a while from what fuel was in the filter resivoir and then ran out. I hooked every thing back up and got it started.
I believe what I did was capped the larger hose and connected the purge hose where it had been connected (at the main filter housing). Then disconnected the smaller hose before the secondary filter and attached the DP hose there (before the filter). Sound right? |

The cigar shaped hose is the return to the tank. Remove that one from the filter housing, that's the return to your purge bottle.
The other hose that flows from your purge bottle TO the engine gets connected to the inlet to the clear fuel filter. If you ran it dry you'll have to prime it to get it going. Best Wishes, Chuck

Pimp,
U have to connect the DP hose to the input of the fuel pump. That's where the hose from the inline filter is connected. Or U can connect DP hose to the inlet of the inline filter. The IP must be pressurized to pump fuel to the injectors. P E H |

Dp=snake Oil
What went wrong is you tried to use a product for your car, which is of little value if any when used as specified by the manufacturer many would call it by its rightful name snake oil. Wasting good cash on magic car repair chemicals is a personal choice but when doing so will cause damage to your car somebody should tell you the truth.
You try to use a bogus product in a way it was never intended to be used and which is going to damage your fuel system no might damage it you will damage the fuel injection system. Therefore, when you get your fuel lines figured out take your DP and drop it off at your city’s next toxic waste disposal day. If you need a picture of the correct fuel line connection, I can take one and email it to you. Last but not least I have valve job in a can which also repairs blown head gaskets guaranteed to work every time or your money back on special this week for $49 a can PM me for details Dave S |

ignore that little man behind the curtain
dp worked for 2 cars i had that had injection probs recently. red actually had increased acceleration going up hill on the freeway at 70. my wife knew the difference so that says something.
dp is supported positively on this forum by many who participate.

![]() DP works great, and I have tried it. I can testify that my car (as slow as it is) is faster, and smokes less after a purge... ~Nate

Most people (including myself) on this forum are firm believers in Diesel Purge for a reason. It works.
