Northwest group buy of Baldwin P102 oil filters (617, 616)
Scoping the interest for a group buy of top quality oil filters in the Portland Vancouver area. Please check application of this filter to your engine; should work for 616 and 617 engines, turbo and non. Please post sources with price quotes and quantity etc. Any interested say 'AYE'.

I have only sent out one email to the aforementioned supplier in PDX. Personally don't want to spend more than $160 on filters. From what I have seen they can be had for just under $14 each after shipping; the one link in the oil filter thread was cheap but required $2000.00 for free shipping!! I am not going that far, but it was the best price I've seen.
More people, less cost ,you know the drill. I have also been considering aproaching diesel service stations or fleet mechanics (maybe FI has something to say?) about getting this on one of their shipments. Ideally there would be small group of people involved that would check there local sources. For the right price I would buy a case of 12 @$170 total, maybe a little more since I would change the filter every other change. If not.. I am sticking w/ the full flow WIX.

http://www.bfwebexpress.com/catalog.asp Buy a case and it comes out under $13 each. I was told by sales that the price is going up this week. At this point it makes no sense to have group buy to save on shipping. The price diff is negligeable compared to what you are paying in stores for the junk.

Are the Baldwin that much better than the WIX? $13 vs. $8.50? I have ran WIX on about everything, I know everyone has their favorite, just curious about the price differance vs. quality.

OIL FILTERS: which one to buy????
i have yet to use them, or even see them. But by reading the thread, it seems quite obvious, I think there are spec available. Where are you getting WIX for $8??
