The JCB Dieselmax is powered by two JCB444 diesel engines which have been developed with Ricardo to produce 750hp each and torque of 1106 lb ft, providing over five times the power of the production version; with 150hp per liter, the JCB444-LSR engine is the world’s highest specific power diesel car engine. If conditions are right, the team is looking to set a diesel-powered record near 300 mph—the previous diesel record was set in 1973 at 235 mph.
