MB diesel engine t-shirt - geek?

I saw this engine t-shirt for a BMW 2002.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-2002-Engine-design-T-Shirt-NR-2002-2002ti-2002tii_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42606QQihZ015QQitemZ250012125530QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Got me think'n that a 617 engine shirt would be cool.

Wife thinks I'm a geek. (I am.)

Am I the only one who thinks this would be cool?

Thumbs up

That would be VERY cool!

Someone had made some shirts once from the technical 3-view of the G-wagen and I thought that'd be great to do with the W123 as well.

Hey guys,

I know a guy who does t-shirt silkscreening and has given me trememdous deals in the past...I know him as the team manager for my son's ice hockey team. The last set of shirts he did for me (one ink color, small logo on front and large graphic on back) were around $8 each.

If someone has a good engine pic (I vote 616, heh) I'd be happy to try to set it up. I like the sample above...it might also be cool to have a wire-frame or even exploded pic like the Performance Products catalog.

I know I only have a handful of posts here...but I have a ridiculous number of posts on 190revolution.net. I'll get the shirts before I ask anyone for their hard-earned $$$, and I'd be happy to work via phone/email/whatever with anyone who wants to help coordinate.

Let me know, an MB diesel shirt would kick ass.

See what happens

Now that the suggestion has been made, I'll take a large and an XL.
Def black shirt with white engine. Maybe a saying on the back like "617. One million miles, just ask any unscrupulous seller on Ebay." j/k

I've seen a cutaway engine in b/w somewhere on this site.

The only issue with using 'found' images from the net is the hassle of obtaining permission to use them. Or the potential liability of using them without that permission.

Isn't there a time limit on the copyright of images... I can't remember what it is, but i thought it was 20 years. One of the guys on my Charger forum did some reading on this and learned that the factory manual for all the chargers 66-74 were out of copyright... so now he is selling copies of the manual at the cost of the paper and ink it takes to print it.. witch it a lot cheaper then trying to snag a manual on ebay.

If it is a 20 year period for the copyright, and Mercedes didn't re-up the copyright of the images... we might be able to use a cut away of a 617 used in advertising in the 70s.

I'll take 2 one black and one gray! XXL

For the use of enthusiasts who aren't seeking profit or using the image in a defamatory way there isn't any issue.

Besides, it's free positive advertising for MB!
