A call for "vacuum amounts" diagram
I was wanting to see if anyone had a vacuum diagram for an '83 300D that might give the amount of vacuum I should have coming from different hoses and going to different parts (i.e.transmission, door locks). I have some diagrams that show me where the different lines go, but to my knowledge they don't tell me how much vacuum I should be registering.
On another vacuum note, I have a wierd situation that others haven't been able to discribe. A four-way hose is supposed to pull vacuum for three functions (door locks, ACC vent valves, shut off valve). However, my shut-off valve (which shuts the car off fine) uses all the vacuum from that line without leaving any vacuum for the other two functions. I can plug the opening to that line with a trusty golf tee and the other two functions work. So far I haven't found any leaks in around that area either. It doesn't make much sense and is kinda frustrating. Any help on either subjects would be much appreciated. |

I came across this article. It might help you.
http://articles.mbz.org/transmission/adjust/ http://www.mercedesdismantlers.com/AutomaticTransmissionInformation.html The shutoff valve only uses vacuum when you shut off the engine. You have a leak somewhere. When the engine is not running, separately pull vacuum on the 3 functions that you mentioned. They should all hold vacuum. It might take you awhile to create vacuum to the door locks, but you should get one if there are no leaks there.
