knocking noise in right front underside in 240d

whenever i am in reverse, i can hear, and feel, a knock somewhere in the rightfront corner. this is a new development, one that may be coinciding with the exhaust faults i've been experiencing. i'm not sure, though. btw with all other gears there is no knock. thanks for any help.
