'91 350SD ARV - Is this it? Also an EGR vacuum hose question...
I'd like to disable the ARV on my 350SD, so I want to confirm that I am looking at the right thing. Is this it? (See attached jpg) Should I just pull the vacuum hose and plug it with a golf tee? Any advice is greatly appreciated. (As many details as possible are also more than welcome!!)
Also - my EGR is now gone (temporarily, of course - for testing - thanks to Brian C.'s testing kit ![]() If I'm way off base, someone PLEASE let me know! Thanks! |

That's just one of the solenoids for it. The ARV is on the turbocharger itself I recall.
The trash you pointed is easily removed. Follow the thick black line and pull it out from the firewall, it's only a fresh air tube. Then trace back to the side where the AFM is at. Just keep tracing and removing accordingly. Revert to my pictures as seen here. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I would just plug the line on the end that attaches to the turbo. much simpler
