Rusty '79 300d -- Should I get it?

Local guy has a (supposedly) fine running, but rusty 300d for sale for $500. Should I get it for a beater, drive it 'till it dies and then part it out? Or let it pass?

I have no designs toward taking care of the caner -- it appears to be nearing terminal. Especially in my rediculously humid environment.

Haven't driven it yet, so I don't know how well it runs, but there's rust on the rockers, hood edges, around the lip of the sunroof and some on the fenders. It's also quite musty and appears to leak significantly into the cabin and the trunk.

Whatchall think? Should I spend any time looking into this thing or run away?

Bill

edit: Umm, I think I caught some wierd virus from this site -- I'm also in the process of buying an old 300 wagon. Help!
