Why do I have a dim bulb?
My left headlight has just gotten dim. Dim on both high and low beam. Looks like it is barely on. I swapped bulbs and it was still dim. The plug looked slightly burned. Do I need to replace the plug and if so, where do I get one? Fastlane doesn't list one that I can find. Or could it be something else?

that is usually caused by a ground circuit issue, check for loose or corroded grounds on that light wiring

The connectors on that style headlights were known for melting as well, but I agree, high and low beams doing it indicate a ground issue.

On the 3 wire plug one wire is for hi beam, one for low and the third for ground, the center wire is ground. Trace this wire to its ground and clean this connection. If thats not possible, splice in a new wire just behind the plug and run it to a clean bare metal connection like the stud that retains your side parking light.

dim lights
dim light are caused by high resistance in the circuit. Something in the circuit is adding more resistance, probably corroded or dirty connectors. Clean the connectors with sand paper.
