tranny flex bolts

Hey guys,

I was pulling my tranny last night and forgot to remove the flex plate bolts, so after some looking I take it that you remove them thru the tranny air scoop. So how do youmbump the motor over to get to all the bolts?? I had my wife in the car trying to turn iut over and nothing worked. Key would come on, but not turn the motor over???
Also how many bolts are there in the flax plate??
