ANY engine with a turbo does not need backpressure in the exhaust.

Soo... I need to fix some holes in mine. I am going to cut out the kidney beans and install a straight pipe there, How load will it be with out the rear muffler also?

I just got rid of my rear muffler.

wasnt doing anything but adding backpressure. It's no louder with it off. The local shop quoted me $90+ parts, I did it myself for $25ish in parts, and about an hours work. Sure, it's just a simple clamp-job (no welder at hand) but it'll work until nextyear, I'm sure.

I've got a wire feed welder so I thought I could fix the system up pretty good. I'll try it without the rear muffler and see how I like it. Can always go back and replace it with some thing else.

Sorry about the highjack.

Mig-welding pipe can be a pain.

expect a tons of blow-throus if you havnt welded thin-wall pipe/tubing before.

I love my straight pipe. It's really loud, but the police haven't said anything yet. I get looks from Harley riders on occasion.

With that said, I think a 6" diameter pipe is a little excessive for these engines.
