Jumping the heater blower?
Well I tried fixing my nonexistant heat by first replacing the control unit with a newer looking one from the jy, didn't work, re soldered the old unit, didn't work, cleaned the fuse and terminals, that actually worked, for about 2 trips, I made sure it was really clean after that with no success. So I would like to fix it correctly but right now its really friggin cold driving this thing. Can I jump two prongs on the control unit plugs to get the blower to blow full blast? All I can find is a schematic from an 86 SDL and it says term 13 is hot, I dont have 13 terminals. Oh mine is an 81 sd.

That sounds ALOT like what I went thru with my SD. If you can manage to hard wire the motor directly to a KNOWN ON power source (12VDC of course) If it works, there's a fault somewhere else. The next likely problem is with the resistor pack.. beyond that is still a mystery to me. In the end it was the motor that had failed. Couldn't get one so I grafted one from a Nissan onto the flange plate and it worked remarkably well.
But to answer your question, yes, with a switch inline and a MINUMUM 25 A fuse.

Yeah that's kind of what Im looking to do, just wanting to do it without tearing the dash/console apart to get to the main wires, hence the jumping terminals at the control unit plug.
The fact that I have heard the blower come on on occasion kind of rules out a bad blower motor. |

Not so. That is a typical of a blower with worn brushes. But you can jump it. For a quick fix just run a fused wire from the battery, out of the hood at the cowl, in the passenger window to the blower.
