Is Cruise Standard on 84SD?

I was looking at Atlanta Craigs list & asked what doesn't work on the car.

Received the following: The car does not have the option for cruise control or heated seats.

The heater works, the a/c does not.

All windows work except for the driver side rear window. The motor for that window does work, but the plastic clips that hold the window need to be replaced so the window is currently in the up position.

The sun roof and the antenna do work, but the fuse needs to be replaced.

The seats work.

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/1527103578.html

If he's truthful, it looks like fix the window, air, short in roof & cruise if it was standard.

edit: Should probably have been in the Craigs alert. Not mine. Someone go look. Feel free to move.

Not sure, but I thought cruise (deleted?) was standard and heated seats optional.

I love how everyone selling has to post that "these cars can EASILY go 500k" or "easy to convert to FREE veggie oil". Then roof works - just needs a fuse. Only (insignificant) plastic pieces needed for the window. Still, take 10 or 12 Ben Franklins & you have a good start. I wonder if the new dash is an entire dash or just a cover.

I've never seen one without cruise. Heated seats is relatively rare, especially in the south. Seems odd too put it that way.

I've seen a pic of a MB with cruise control deleted from the factory and there's no stalk present on the steering column on the said car. If the cruise was truly deleted, there would be no stalk on the steering column of the 300SD, and the stalk is clearly present in this pic.

It was his daily driver for a year, and he didn`t know that stalk was there .

what else doesn`t he know

I notice this 84 has the pleats going to the edge of the seat. my 84 is flat and smooth across the front. when did MB do this mid yr change?

Hmmm. I think that's the difference between MB TEX and leather. The car for sale says it has MBTex.

Not noticing the cruise control stock on a car he put thousands of miles on over a year, is highly suspect.

MB TEX

I would like to have the MB TEX grey interior out of it. I hate the leather and the TEX will last longer imo.
Robert

I have never seen a 300SD without cruise

I'm looking for any grey seats for a 126 as my springs need to be replaced as does the cover. The leather that I've seen tends to come apart at the seams. Finding anything in good shape will be an improvement.

I'd go look at the car if it were closer. Pull the oil cap & assert that it has blow by with the air not working should get a few $100 off. Then you'd have a good starting point.

He probably says no cruise because he doesn't know how to use it, or it is non-functional, as most of them are.

JUNKMAN if you need 126 interior parts, now is the best time ever to find them. thank you to mr.obama and his clunker program, there are some of the nicest seats you could hope for. start going through the PNP yards.

I pulled a set of black leather seats from a 87 560SEL 136,000 miles, no cracks, or other signs of deterioration. think I paid $47.00 ea with electric tracks and heated seats.
