Alternator Removal
Hey guys, i ahven't posted in awhile but i've been reading. I'm having some trouble figuring out how exactly to get the top of the alternator off. That bolt is still in; however, the nut has been removed. If anyone has a picture that would be even better. Thank you.

The bolt that you refer to is probably the tensioning bolt......correct?
This bolt is actually a combination of a tensioning bolt and a bolt that passes though the lugs of the alternator to secure it. So, it must be completely removed. To do that, you've got to free the tensioning bolt from the bracket. This usually requires you to bend the fingers at the end of the bracket slightly to get the threaded portion out of the bracket and up in the air. There is a another nut behind the alternator that secures the bolt that passes through the lugs. Remove that nut and the entire affair pulls forward (although it may fight you a bit). |

Thank you. Yes, I forgot to mention that detail. The bolt I was refering to is the tensioning bolt.
