Recline the seat back forward (is that a good term?). At the very bottom of the seat back you will find 2 or 3 screws. Remove them and then pull streaght down on the seat back and it should come loose. Now you should see the screws that hold the mesh frame to the seat back. On my 500SEL I just tightened up the mesh and it was fine. I dont know the condition of your mesh but you can give it a try.

Rear seat elastic holder?

What pmckechnie said... After removing the phillips head srews on the bottom, sometime the sides stick a little and pulling downward is difficult. A genle tap with your fist or palm along the sides of the rear cover will help it come off (sometime a plastic scraper or putty knife can be wedged in a sticky spot). If the nets are not torn, they can be washed. I used some dish liquid and luke warm water and let them soak for awhile before rinsing, drying and reinstalling. You can go down to a fabric store and buy some new elastic and replace it also. As for the frame, depending on how trashed it is. Some epoxy putty on the inside of the frame will hold it together. The last part of the rehab is to repaint the frame it if it's discolored. Other wise it's off to the bone yard All in all, a very easy and quick job that returns big asthetic interior points.
