so i figured out my oil leak, no gasket
while replacing the oil pan gasket, i noticed that my 240D did not have a vacuum pump gasket. i had first thought that my oil pan gasket was the cause of my leaks, but noticed upon further inspection that a lot of oil was coming from my vacuum pump. i went back and looked at pictures i took when i got the car and also saw that there was no gasket. i had just missed it, and now i am looking for a local place to buy the gasket so i can have it before the weekend. anyone know of another place that might have gaskets, other than the local car places?

I sincerely doubt any car parts chain would have it. Your best local source is probably an independent MB mechanic shop.

ya thanks for the part number. stupid thing is that i just made a big purchase at ********az for some engine shocks, air filters and this other gasket. now i would have to buy $50 bucks worth to get free shipping again. On the other hand, it is a great way to convince the wife i need to get some more parts

Its pretty easy too make a gasket with some gasket paper and a ball peen hammer.

made a gasket and fixed the leak, thanks for the advice, it was easy and cheap.
