Turbo adjustment Issue, I'm stumped. (PICS)

hello,

I have been trying to adjust my boost on my KKK turbo, but to no avail. I got it to go from 8psi to about 10, but thats all itll get. I have turned the wastegate adjustment screw around clockwise like 5 times and it still wont boost more. I have a boost gauge hooked up so that i can check it. Anyone know what may be going on? Also, when I accel hard, I hear a hissing sound from under the hood when im driving, but I think it may be the extra air in the intake due to the intake that I stuck on there.

also, I do not have the overboost protection on there, It was missing since I got the car, and I have the alda removed.

any ideas to what may be up?

Any help will be very much appreciated.

The sound is the air filter you've got on there. Those kind of filters are very noisy compared to the OE.
I didn't even know there was an adjusting screw on the wastegate so I can't help you out there.

Where's the wastegate adjustment screw on the KKK's? You have a pic of that?

That may be all you get. The KKKs do not create as much boost as the Garrets.

the adjustment screw is on the back of the wastegate. But still only 10 lbs. that isnt much. Are u running the KKK turbo on ur 240D? Cuz i was most likely misinformed but I thought that the KKK was a T3.

Not really. I boost mine to 14psi quite often and it will reach 20+ if the wastegate is not working right.

maddogg20, there is a 10mm lock nut at the base of the adjusting screw and only the screw should turn, not the whole top of the wastegate valve..

EDIT: The turbo is a KKK K26.

Boost !

The wastegate hose is of Satan and must be removed for full turbo.

Of course this could grenade the whole thing, but if you want to see what she can do go right ahead. I was amazed with the power after my wastegate hose (unbeknowst to me) developed a leak. For days I could not figure out how the V-8 got under the hood, I was seeing 15+ pounds of boost. I replaced the hose (high quality silicon) and back to >12 psi and all is well. But I know what to do if I ever need it - for short and highly monitoried durations only!

You can also just clamp the wastegate hose off to see what kind of max boost the turbo is capable of.
