1939 320 Diesel, black limo, restored, one of the very first, oldest, MB diesels!!

Somehow this 45 hp gem survived World War II, now here it is.

Oh, how I love to browse Claus Mirbach's used car lots.

http://www.mirbach.de/main.asp?main=auto_detail&ID=3014&subnav=1

He has the best collection of Mercedes Benz cars for sale in the world.

I'd love to have that as my daily driver. Slow, though.

Lovely car. I read a road test on a similar one and it had a top speed of like 49 mph!

I would have to swap in something with a bit more power.

Whenever I hoist myself up into my Dodge I tend to daydream of putting the engine tranny and rear end into a large prewar 'merican car like a packard for towing.

Actually the old Packards had lots of torque from the stock engines. They were slow turning over square engines that didn't produce lots of HP though.

By the little pricing thermometer, the price was approximately 80,000 Euros.

That's a lot of diesel fuel.

They were pretty grand cars for their day....before the war they were generally considered better than a caddy.
