Okay- my local indie is the greatest- he taught me this- and he learned it from MB while working for MB. It works on nearly all MB's with knobbed locks. Use wisely and dont pass on to evil people, please.
Obtain a plastic shipping band that are used to secure items to shipping pallets. You've seen the steel shipping bands- these are the same thing but made out of plastic. About a 1/2 inch wide and long- get one at least 3 feet long- 5 feet is better. A virgin one is best, meaning is has little to no bends in the plastic. A very very straight one is best. Now make a sharp fold; so that it's doubled back on itself. See photo #1. Now get a cloth to protect your paint, and a small pry bar or flat bladed screwdriver. Pry open the top of your door slightly, using the cloth to make sure you dont leave marks. You can only pry the door a slightly, but this is more than enough space to insert the folded end of the shipping band. If you have some soapy water, spray the rubber door seal so that the shipping band can be worked and slid down to the bottom of the window. If no soapy water, the band can still be worked down the door to the bottom of the window- which of course is right near the lock. The shipping band is now sticking out- not so near the lock, so you'll have to move the inside part of the shipping band (one part is closer to the car, the other is closer to you- the one closer to the car is the inside one). By pushing the inside band you'll be able to curve the fold towards the lock. Look at photo #2- the inside band is on the top in this photo. If you look at photo #3 you can see what happens by pushing on it. Manipulation of either band will allow you to place the fold where you want it. Get the fold over the lock and then slowly pull on both bands, which become tight under the knob. Now you can lift while keeping tight and you've succeded in pulling the knob up and unlocking the car. This kinda like the coat hanger trick, but with a much better tool. My indie can unlock your w123 or w126 in less than 30 seconds. This trick is very hard to do with non knobbed locks (but it can be done) - keep a shipping band handy and have at least one knobbed lock! Last edited by MTUpower; 01-24-2007 at 10:55 PM. |

They have threads about 40 mpg 617's and try to tell you it's really true, for example. BW is full of bling bling, baloney, half truths and people that ask and then don't listen or tell you you are wrong without any type of logical proof, experience or real life backup. It's like dealing with 10 year olds. But- I'm a MB addict, so I go to all the sites

There seems to be some confusion. If I read this correctly, you have the key. It's not locked in the car. But the tumblers on both doors are broken so that the key will not open either one of them. Correct?
