craigslist 300d engine run out of oil.

http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/275994082.html Engine knocks because of burnt out bearings im assuming. Is something like this fixable without a complete engine transplant?

would likely easier to to install an engine, i doubt that car is worth 8k fixed though, seems a bit optomistic

The engine is garbage says me, gotta figure the piston wrist pins and bores are also toast.

(edit: but that's a fine looking project car - too damned bad 617 engines from 123's wont bolt straight across into the 114 chassis.

Yeah but pulling em out of the woods is half the fun. And right now the typical 114/115 sedan is hotter than $2 pistol among vintaqe car fans, the DIY crowd that fears nothing at working on cars.

I'd have a go at it if it looks as good in person.

There's a few engines available in SF area of california on car-part.com
