Ok ,I found a 4spd ,its in a 76 240d ,will this swap over to an 84 300d turbo car?

Its in need of some tlc,the rod the shifter slids on has worn out its sleeves and will be a very dirty job.Should I pull this unit or what for another? I so want a 4spd,I can take and repair most anything except an automatic trans,I sure would like the enexpense of a clutch driven drive car.

It should. You may want to grab the adaptor plate too. I seem to recall some differences in the later engine's adaptor plates (between the transmission and engine).

Man, everybody is doing the 4 speed conversion today!
