1995 Mercedes 300D mpg

I was just driving past the dealer and saw a really nice 1995 Mercedes 124 300 Diesel.

It is not turbocharged. 606 diesel engine. Can you all tell me anything about these cars. It was sold new at this dealer (my current dealer) and has had the oil changed every 3000 miles. My favorite mechanic said that it was really "cherry" and in great shape.

The air conditioning seems week, but it seems about the same as it was on my 1992 190E 2.6.
