I find it interesting that that the ages are pretty evenly spread. It does surprise me a little that we have so many youngsters in the group. My kids would not drive a 300SD if their life depended on it.

19 here. I just barely remember the year my car was built. Bought new by my grandparents from the now gone Mercedes dealership on Route 4 in Fairfield, OH. Grandpa bought his 300SD there, and I think they bought the W115 240D that my 300D replaced there as well.
