Cool ... another original-owner-via-family ... mine was bought new by my dad at a dealership that is still there, only under a different name. It was called Wilmington Motorcars when he bought it, although it was a Mercedes dealership. Now it is called Mercedes-Benz of Wilmington. But it's the same folks. I still have the slip he filled out specifying the car he wanted them to find (he wanted the white/palomino combination), and agreeing to the purchase, to have it delivered to that dealer. Of course I also have the slip from the same dealership 15 years later where the service department writes to my dad that the car isn't worth repairing and should just be "retired."

I think my dad might also have bought my 240D there, but I'd have to ask him on that one. I wasn't even born ...

it looks like the 36-45 crowd is inching ahead of the 16-25 crowd... or is it the 16-25 crowd is creeping up behind Us 36-45ers...?

Wow, I think I've been behind that guy on I-25.

I hope to be riding my motorcycle at 109. Who am I kidding, I'm just trying to make it through the week.

I'll be 60 in May

I went up to Ventura to visit my 94 year old Mom a few years back to take some pictures of her nesting Orioles. Her car was in the driveway but no Mom was to be found inside the house. I was in the driveway when the garage door opened and I snapped the picture in the attachment. It seems that she prefers to drive a twin plug 930 instead of her Camry when she plays cards or bingo. Fun old girl, eh?

She had a stroke last year and her driving days were over. She died peacefully in her sleep last Sunday.

Wow Tirebiter, your Mom was awsome. So sad to hear of your loss. But she was livin large to the end, eh? Did she always exemplify the phrase " your only as old as you feel"?? I can only hope that I can finish out my days like that.

Tirebiter, that is an awesome pic. Your mother seems like she was living life for each day. Like my good friend Danica Patrick once told me, "Age is only a number."
