Where is the A/C Groundhog?

I don't understand what gives! The A/C groundhog is usually all over the place by this time of the year with at least a half dozen A/C threads per day. I have no one to argue with regarding conversions, junk refrigerants and proper flushing methods.

All things in good time, just like gp and oil change threads. Stick your ear to the ground, you can hear them coming.

If it makes you feel any better, 240Joe is now crusading against over-oil-changing and calling you out by name over on that other forum.

i bought a 5pound bottle of r420a and ive put it in the pressures match that of r12 and its a blend but it doesnt fractionate so far its great. its a drop in replacement for r12 works with everything that r12 works with even r12 freon itself! i HIGHLY recommend it and it doesnt require flushing or seals to be changed! please people dont change to r134 you will be very sad with the conversion.

Well. Hardly a contraversial post, but I've just left my car at my new Indie for a list of stuff to be done. One thing that will NOT be done is any A/C work. The compressor is siezed and I'm having him not even replace the belt. When I get around to finding a new compressor I will then re-visit the whole evap removal nightmare and see about dealing with it then. So that means at least one more summer in Phoenix without AC

I pulled the AC compressor, and am in the process of removing the rest of the system.

Well we northeasterners have seen at least 5 since phil reared his ugly head. I was ready to form a posse and hunt him down until at last, 59F this week!
Oh well, my A/C doesn't work anyway...

I'm in Phoenix this week (about 90 F today), and my R-12 system is working great. Last time I was here, I still had R-134 (not so great).

I hear you can use compressed propane as a replacement!

nudge nudge

I posted a question last month, and even got the ground hog reference.....
1980 240D AC questions [air conditioning]

My wagon AC has been blowing down in the low 40's this past week. Almost a year on Freeze-12.
The 240D is getting R-12 after I cobble the system back together, and try and figure out which compressor to use.....

What "other" forum are you talking about?

I personally do NOT attack someone who is not present to defend themselves. Come to think of it, I don't attack anyone unless it is to defend myself. Of course, some people were not raised like I was.
