Seems to be a nice rod-bender...

Okay, THIS one might be worth rolling the dice on at least seeing it in person.

It's a pity about that damned motor because I have seen many BEAUTIFUL 1990-91 350SD and SDLs out there.

The question remains "do I feel lucky?"

It sure do look purdy! How's your luck been lately?

Very nice black on black.

Luck has been quite good lately.

That's what makes me nervous. I'd sure hate for it to run out to the tune of an $8K 3.5L long-block.

There are MANY nice 350SDLs and a few 350SDs out there.

If you feel up for it, take it! A 350SD would be the fastest 126 diesel, and black-on-black makes for an excellent Q-ship. Maybe paint lower trim black, put on some AMG Pentas or Aero IIs, and you'd be rolling! With those miles on the original engine, my guess is you'd be fine.

i would only buy a 350 if i could get it cheaply enough to provide for a 3.0 conversion.

Nice looking cars, that one is ok. The interior is a bit worn, and the pictures were taken on a cloudy day.

I was looking at a very similer car yesterday for $3k, it was a 300SE. Its basicly the same car, with 25 more hp, for half the price, and it had 50k less miles. I'm toying with the idea with getting another W126 and don't feel like chancing a 350. I'll role the dice on the M103 though, worst case it needs a head gasket, I can live with that. Their is a lot of room under the hood with the M103...

It's on ebay for a reason......what is that reason? Personally, when I buy a driver, I buy for longevity, not so I can look cool for 6 months before the motor takes a shyte.
If you want a project, buy one that has a nice body and a known bad motor. you know what you are buying.....no suprises and know what you have when done.

I bought my '82 sd from this guy!

And I'm sorry I did. He's a shyster. It broke down on the way home, and he was a $#^% to deal with. (Some sort of flange that connects the engine to the tranny was stripped, left me on the Palisades at night.) Finally gave me $250 back on a $700 repair after bieng a total dick. Forced me to leave good feedback before he would refund it. He is not honest, don't believe ANYTHING he says about the car. The car was neglected and needs a lot of work, full of major rust and leaks, vacuum pump shot, tranny shifts like crap, lots of things don't work. (He told me that the trans shifts great.) I think it was hit on the passenger rear door, but the ad clearly said no evidence of accident. Granted I was a total newbie, and an idiot for letting this happend to me.

Having said that, this car may be in good shape, who knows? Make sure you see it in person and give it thorough check out and test drive before you bid anything! I mean it, the less time you have with this guy in your life the better. Very distasteful character.

"Nuff said.

That pretty much says it all. Don't deal with the guy, there are indeed plenty more 350's if that's what you want.

Please notice my first post.

I would never, ever buy a car - any car - sight unseen, particularly any car on Ebay, particularly any Mercedes on Ebay!

I'm not going to buy the car but it was worth considering the cheap Airtran flight to Philly to check it out, but naah, I'll pass.
