Had to way overtorque tranny drain bolt...
Torqued to 10lb then starter pouring mobil 1 synth tran fluid in. Started dripping right away. Rechecked torque and retorqued to 15lb. Still leaking. After that I just kep torquing until it stopped dripping. I had noticed with the pan off that there was a decent sized groove aorund the pan at the drain bolt. Can I get a new pan or just over torque? The torque converter was just fine. Used two fresh crush washers on the pan and cleaned it thouroughly. This is 4 bolt pan tranny.

You could hunt for a new pan to put it on next time you service it. You could also try a fiber washer instead of the copper one. OR put a little copper based silicone sealer with a new crush ring and try that. In any event... you have atleast 15,000 miles to decide!

On the SD, I tightened down to a spec of 5ft. pounds, no leak. You should try other suggestions, yet sounds like a tore up pan.

![]() Running mobil 1 synth day 1. Beautiful. Hopefully the dreaded issues of leaks and what not will be avoided.

It was way overtorqued before no doubt, and now requires way too much.
