Anyone had shaky power steering?

Has anyone experienced vibration in the steering wheel when steering? I notice it when parking my 85 300D or any time I move the steering wheel off center. Hard to notice when the vehicle is moving past parking speeds. Kind of annoying.

I am running a Nardi wooden steering wheel..can't remember if it was there when I had the stock schoolbus wheel. Probably was, but the rubber/vinyl wheel probably damped it a lot better.

I figure this means my power steering pump is tired (the high pressure hose has a slow leak but I keep it topped up). The steering is nice and tight (new upper control arms and tie rods) with barely any play. Another thing is my belts are all pretty old and cracked and maybe the old drivebelt is the culprit? I am going to replace them soon. Was just wondering if this was a common thing with these cars.
