Trans interchangable?

I need to install a new trans in my 82 300TD (722 303) I can get a good deal on one out of an 85 D (722 315) Anybody know if it will fit since the last three numbers are different. an 82 300D is also 722 315 ??? Thanks

Yes and no. The 85 uses and electronic signal combined with the IP rack sensor to modulate vac pressuere. You might be able to swp out the modulator.
