Engine shake after manifold gasket/turbo change

I have a bad shake after the above mentioned repair. I have a feeling it's low compression in a cylinder. Car will do 100 on the highway still, but at idle it rocks. New mounts and new engine shockers. \New rack bolt, adjusted with precision. On a road trip last winter it started shaking really bad like that, then unexpectedly got better on its own. Now it's back to shaking.
A little gray smoke visible only at night.
New radiator, and new reservoir & cap, new water pump, loses a wee bit of coolant, can't see where it's going, and the TOP HOSE FEELS A BIT HARDER THAN THE OLD ONE. Uh oh. No coolant in oil or vice versa and no sweet smelling white smoke either.
I'm going to adjust the valves and see if it goes away, otherwise I'll have to fire up the wallet again. Jeez.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Could I have dislodged some intake port scrunge and caused it to stick a valve open or something like that when changing the gasket?
