W126 Drivetrain, Diff and Rear Suspension Refresh

Am deep into a complete overhaul of rear subframe, trailing arms, homokinetic axles - well, doing as much as is feasible while I'm in there...

Quick Question: I can easily generate a 'clicking' by wiggling the pinion yoke on my diff. Is this a clear diagnostic that I need to replace the bearings?

Had planned - at minimum - to replace the differential side and pinion seals. Should I just be thinking about breaking down the differential - right now - and replacing bearings? This is something I could get back to in a couple of months.

Front Flex Disk is going, and Driveshaft Bearing Support is shot. Replacing these parts, and that bearing, is on the plan. Replacing a rusted Trailing Arm, after busing replacement, is the original task driving the project. Everything getting de-rusted and POR-painted.

Am heavily into re-packing/rebooting the CV joints, using the Febi replacement cans/boots. Not as bad as I would have thought; I would encourage others here to try it.

Have been taking loads of photos; will post shortly - hope some of this is useful to someone.

Wow - Stretch, your excellent thread on the 201 Differential Rebuild has been really helpful.
