Ack!! What did I do to my car?!
Okay, stupid question here. I just did some brake work which required that I jack up the front of the car. As a jack point, I used that center beam that runs from side to side in between the engine pan and the transmission pan. Seemed like a sturdy frame member. I then put jack stands under the usual spots on the sides of the car, did my job, and lowered the car again. Upon removing the jack, I noticed that the front of the car is now riding higher than usual, and the wheels are seriously toed in (I think I got the terminology right - the wheels are angled so that the tops stick out, and the bottom sticks in - like a bow-legged cowboy).
I jumped up and down on the front bumper, in an effort to make it settle down, figuring the suspension is just a little caught, but no luck. Is this fairly normal, and will just work itself out after a few bumps in the road? Thanks, Dan

You're talking about the 87 300D in your sig? If so just take it for ride. It should go back to normal. Mine did the same thing when I had it off the ground.

Thanks for the reassurance. I haven't driven it yet, and just wanted to get a quick reality check before hitting the road.
Thanks! Dan

As soon as you move the car a few feet it will go back to normal.

Didn't mean anything by it, just that I've jacked up my cars, many times and never saw the wheels do what you said.

Sagging Wheels
I had my car on the lift at my friends garage last week, and noticed that all four wheels were sagging and towed in substantially.
Of course I immeadiatly paniced thinking that somthing was wrong (not an unusual reaction given that somthing is usually wrong when you drive a 25 yo car). I was about to open my mouth and say somthing stupid when I realized that the suspension goes up AND down during driving and that this was normal.
