Trucks and flying rocks.....
Guess I am in vent-ation mode today.....
How can trucks get away with letting rocks fly from their vehicles??? I now have a 7" crack in my windshield thanks to a truck that let a rock fly off of its body. ![]()

if you get the truck information you CAN make them pay for the damage. especially if you have a camera showing they were uncovered, or their rear was leaking the rocks... rocks coming from the road off their tires are not a suable offense. good luck... since you are posting, I assume you are not in front of the truck. did you get any information off the truck?

Why should they care. After all, they are clearly "Not Responsible for Broken Windshields."

Of course not. But their lobby is influential enough to reject the requirement for plates on the rear.

Could be
It is possible that a cement truck damaged your windshield. But generally, the cement truck, or what we commonly call a "cement mixer truck" does not drop debris that would damage your windshield. It might spin up a stone from the pavement which could do the damage, for which the trucker would not be liable. Trucks carrying loads typical soil and small stones can have small rocks fly off and break glass.

that statement is JUST to limit the attempts. trust me, if they are found negligent they are liable. if the debris is from the road, they can get off. if it's from their truck it's their fault. AND they can get fined by the state for maximum penalty PER ITEM OF DEBRIS!!! they will pay to fix your windshield IF YOU HAVE PROOF!
