Resetting maintenance reminder
I've probably done this 50 times on my E300D with no issues. However this time I'm stumped. I've used the procedure in the owners manual that has always worked in the past, but am having no luck this time. This is also the first time that I can recall that the "Service due" warning pops up every time I turn the key on and I cannot bring up the miles until service number. It does go out after ten seconds or so. In the past I'd double click the "O" button to pull up the miles to go until service and then shut it off, restart and the thing would always reset itself to 10,000 miles with no problems. That is not working with this message. Is there a secret to resetting it in this situation?

Aha, finally got it to reset to 10K miles. Not really sure what the secret was, but I will certainly try to reset it in the future before it gives me the "Service due" notice.
