There is a difference between turbo and non-turbo. You can run a turbo engine without the turbo without probems (a little lower compression though I believe) with a little tuning, you shouldn't run a turbo on a non-turbo engine or non-turbo head.
The two heads you've mentioned are both the original #14 casting.

I bought a parts car for one of my updated heads and one motor for updated parts (head and vac pump). Finding the head alone will prove difficult.
Is there some issue with your current No 14?

If you check the FSM it lists which heads are the turbo and the NA heads. I believe that the #15 is NA, #14 is turbo, etc.
The differences might not be obvious, such as valves.
