talk about a veteran

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/358971271.html

"Fluids checked regularly" On the ground after you pull away?

It's probably in mechanically fine shape and no rust!

It looks like a real war veteran.

Insurance companies call cars like that a "driveable total loss"

The advertisement doesn't say what model year the car is, but all things considered, it doesn't matter, really.

The really good thing about driving a car like that is that "NO ONE" will EVER dare argue over the right of way when you come barrelling along in a car like that

It's a very liberating feeling to drive one of those.

No wonder they were checking the fluids.

What a POS. Be interesting to call and talk to the guy. I'd like to know where the dents in the drivers door were acquired.

Cheers,

Bill

With an exterior like that, I bet the interior is gorgeous. Hey, you can't judge a book by its cover..........

but in this case, I think we can take a few hints.

If you had to, then do it like they do in Peru. Just use house paint. (really, that is what they use down there!!!!)

Applied with a very large paintbrush, broadside on.

That thing makes my SD look mint!

$900? Its ready for the junk yard.

At least they are honest, I'm sure it hasn't seen an oil change in a long, long time. But its probably ok because it leaks and burns so much.

You know, that reminds me of days long ago, back in my teen years, I drove by this house near mine regularly, and this nice looking young girl lived there that drove a white Karmann Ghia. All the car looked like it really needed was a decent buff job to shine it up. One day as I was passing by I saw her out in the driveway, paint tray sitting behind the car and a roller in her hand, I though, "Nah, she wouldn't..." Next day, I was again passing by and there was this red Karmann Ghia sitting in the drive, complete with roller texturing....lmao
This car, it reminds me of the typical San Jose/Newark/Sunol area commuter beast out on the freeway, man those guys are vicious! I was on a job site out there once back in my A/C days, every time it rained I couldn't believe how many folks were off in the dirt, we watched an old peugeot once try to do a fast merge, spin out and clobber the center burm wall, smeared the front, he cranked it 5 minutes or so, got it fired, and backed up then drove off like nothing happened, front bumper dragging and sending sparks everywhere...I couldn't believe it...Nobody else even seemed to have a second thought about it out there...

I did that years ago with a 1936 Ford. When I brought it home, it was about 10 different colors of primer and paint. My landlord, who lived next door made a few comments about it so I went to K Mart and bought a gallon of black exterior house paint and had at it. Shut the landlord up and didn't look 1/2 bad from a distance. A few years later when I sold it, I followed the towtruck up the road and watched as sheets of paint peeled off.

You're right Jim B. I'd park in the closest non-handicapped spot if I had that car. Reminds me of Uncle Buck's car. Hilarious.

If that thing is worth $900, my 83 300SD with 215K is worth at least $9500, anyone interested?

How about a bumper sticker "Look out for falling parts"

Or "Watch your oil pan"
