1997 overdrive

Does a 1987 300d transmission have an overdrive or just a 4th gear? Thanks.

4th gear is 1:1 so it's technically overdrive.

I was going to respond that the 1997 has a 5-speed autobox....then I saw you're talking about a 1987..

Overdrive means that the ratio is lower than 1:1. Was that a mistype?
