84 300D not starting
Several months ago I started my 84 300D to take if for a spin. Starts fine and I back out of the drive way. When I put the car into drive it just shutters and quits. I have added 7 gal of Diesel to it and pumped and pumped the primer and replaced the air filter, and all the fuel filters and still nothing... The car is driving me crazy! I work and worked and worked on it doing everything I know... Today I spent 2 hours with it hooked to my Jeep as I pumped and cranked. Oil pressure is going all the way up to 3 but my rmp isn't moving at all... The car shutters and tires to putter but nothing comes out. As my sister cranked it I stuck my face near the tail pipe to see what was coming out and nothing but air was coming out... no black or white smoke... nothing just air. I am so confused... Should I just have it crushed for $400.00? Its driving me crazy! I love this car, its a fun car to drive but I can't seem to get the blasted car started! Please help me someone!

not a diesel jocky, but...
Are you sure you are getting fuel to your engine?...
Since diesels are pretty dam simple.. fuel and compression, maybe your fuel pump is getting funky.. Especially since all you smell from exhaust is just air... will let the Pro's sort it out when they find this thread.. Does it sound like it should?.. maybe cruddy connector?.. Relay?..sounds like it might be pumping something, since it shudders, but could be all your priming... Sorry, the best I can do... Good Luck... |

crack the nut on the injector line by the injectors, and see if you get fuel there.
