Whats wrong with this car?
The interior door panels are from a 1990-1991 300SD NOT a 1983! Also, Pass. side hood line looks dipped. Accident damage? NH_Bert:o |
:scream:Its got one each European and one U.S. front turn signal light.
Repainted the rims, and lug bolts, and disk brake dust cover, and valve stem, and valve stem cap, and wheel weights. That is a dash cover. It looks like some kind of lower console cover - the switches fit too low in it. It is also interesting that the close up picture of it blurred. The listing would not be complete without: "These cars usually go from 500 000 to 1 000 000 miles with these engines and still do not die." "The car will be sold with the exempt mileage as it is over 10 years and that's required by Florida law." "The car is also available for sale locally and worldwide at the buy it now price of eighty nine hundred fifty dollars." :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: "The exterior color is Gray, the interior is tan.The best color combination ever made and hard to find.":laugh3: |
maybe the hood stop is not set correctly. On my 300D the passenger hinge is bad and the hood sits lower on that side.maybe?

I like the freshly painted wheels, and wheel weights, and valve stems, and lugs... At least they masked the tire.

Car looks decent, but you know it is cobbled together, and there is simply NO WAY to trust that mileage. Different seller ID's always use that same background location for many ebay auctions...... What does that tell us? |
"The best color combination ever made and hard to find."
He's back. That's all you need to read. Overhyped, Maaco oversprays, and a warranty that won't break his bank, even for a completely defective car. |
I vaguely recall reading about some ebay dealer in Florida that has MB diesels beautifully photographed in harbor settings, and glowingly described, and the cars are basically junk. I wonder if this is that person.
Mismatched blinkers (left, euro and right US) suggest really cheap, major front end repairs with little trouble taken to conceal it. This one should NEVER be purchased sight unseen, unless you got it for next to nothing and were able to take a big gamble. Probably comes with the "West Virginia guarantee" - if it breaks in half, you get to keep both halves. |

The steering wheel is a bit smooth for 97k miles. :birthday: |

Also, I like the dumpster in the passenger vanity mirror. |
It is like watching a crime in progress and not have a phone to call the cops. :veryangry And you know e-bay won't do a thing about it.

All of his descriptions are essentially identical. Nearly all of them are in the "best color combination ever made and hard to find," regardless of the color, and all of them have nothing but "highway, pampered miles." All of them have had all of the service by MB dealers using only MB parts and fluids, but very rarely are any records available.
Read down. The warranty is for 3 days and covers the engine and transmission against major failure. What he doesn't say is what recourse he offers; 50% of labor? I've seen that sort of warranty at many used car dealers. He certainly won't offer to buy the car back, since that's not explicitly printed there. But he'll catch some suckers with his ads, and that's all that matters to him. This guy is making some serious money selling these cars, and isn't about to stop. |

Here is where he takes the pictures of the cars.
