W116 300sd Shocks How Hard?

I have a 1980 300sd 116 chassis that bottoms out everytime I hit the slightest dip or bump. Also, I can with one hand bounce the front and rear of the car by about 6" down and 6" up for a foot of travel or so. I'm assuming it's shock absorber time

Anyways, how hard is it to change those rear shocks. The front two look pretty self explanitory. The back two are inside of the coil spring and look a little trickier. Any idea how to get those back ones out? They also have a weird fastening device. Not a bolt, but a mushroomed out bushing looking thing as a pin that holds it in. I'm assuming I just drill this out???

Lastly, Monroe or Bilstein on the shocks? The Monroes are about $50 a piece. Bilsteins are a little more. What is the better shock?

I don't have the 116, but I cannot imagine it is much different.

Removing the back-seat back-rest gives access to the upper bolts.
The shocks drop out through the spring.

Everybody here will probably say Bilstien.

I have a W116, but I don't know for certain either. I think its the same as on the W123, which is easy. Check in the FSM on W116.org.

Bilstein or don't bother.
