OM606 - Replacing fuel line o-rings w/ Viton ?
Hey guys.... Soon I will embark upon my journey into the world of Viton as it appears as have a small air leak that is visible on 1-2 of my fuel lines while the engine is running. From another thread I've ordered and long now since received the appropriate Viton o-rings to perform the job. I am also thinking of replacing the return lines (rubber) that lead from the engine compartment to the metal lines that run back to the tank. I don't think these hoses are long, but does anyone have the size and length of them as I'd like to order them in Viton as well (if possible).
Now to the question. When I install these hoses w/ the new Viton o-rings, should I put a dab of some special grease on the o-ring prior to it meeting with its final home? Or just make sure that the recipient area's are nice and dry to ensure a snug fit, dry o-ring to dry recipient hole..... Thanks ya'll! |

Can't answer your question concerning fuel line hose size.
When replacing the fuel line o-rings you will probably find they go in very tight. You can lube them with diesel obviously, or could use a dab of silicon or white lithium grease if they are too tight to slip into their fittings.
