Need help removing trunk lock 300sd 1985

Having problems with trunk lock. Can't remove lock. Key will not

go all the way in. Can not turn trunk lock with key to lock or

unlock trunk. ( I can use key in front door to lock or unlock

trunk. )

I want to remove the trunk lock to get the lock cylinder out to

repair or replace it. I have removed one bolt 2 semi hidden nuts

and one screw and the 2 screws for the black plastic vacuum

actuator but still can not remove the trunk lock. Any

suggestions?
Thanks

4 more hidden 8mm nuts hold the black plastic surround that you see from the outside. this piece holds the license plate lights and surrounds the lock; when it comes out the lock comes with it.

Hogweeds got it right. You will have to look in the holes along the top and you will see the nuts. Use an extension with 1/4'' drive.
